Terms of service
The terms that apply to bookings with us and to use of this website.
Bookings
A seat is reserved when a booking is completed and payment is confirmed. Class sizes are limited, and seats are allocated in the order bookings are completed.
Prices and taxes
Course prices are shown excluding GST, which is added at checkout. Prices may change for future dates; the price shown when you book is the price that applies to that booking.
Cancellation and rebooking
Date changes, cancellations and credits are governed by our cancellation and rebooking policy.
Conduct and safety
Students must follow all instructor directions and safety rules. We may refuse entry to, or remove from a class, any student who:
- behaves unsafely or does not follow a safety instruction;
- appears to be under the influence of alcohol, cannabis or other drugs;
- brings a firearm or live ammunition to class;
- is abusive, threatening or disruptive toward other students or staff;
- cannot show the government-issued photo ID required on course day;
- arrives too late to complete the full course.
A student who is refused entry or removed for any of these reasons is treated as a no-show under our cancellation and rebooking policy: the course fee is forfeited and no refund or credit is issued. Offering a seat in a future class is at our discretion.
Certification
Course completion is a safety certification. It is not a licence and does not guarantee the outcome of any licence application. All licensing decisions rest with the Canadian Firearms Program.
Liability
Taking part in a course
Our courses are classroom-based. Hands-on training uses inert training firearms and dummy ammunition only; no live ammunition is used or permitted. Practical handling still involves some physical activity, such as lifting, carrying and operating firearm actions. You are responsible for telling your instructor before class about anything that may affect your safe participation. To request an accommodation, see our accessibility page.
Venues and belongings
Classes are held at third-party venues, and you must follow the venue's rules while on site. You are responsible for your personal belongings. We are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal property.
Damage to equipment
You are responsible for damage you cause to training equipment or venue property through deliberate misuse or by ignoring instructor directions.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a booking or course is limited to the amount paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost wages, travel costs, or delays or decisions on a licence application.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights under Alberta consumer protection legislation.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
