Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Who we are
Chamber Clear Firearms Training, Leduc, Alberta. We handle personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act. For privacy questions or requests, use our contact form.
What we collect
- For each student: name, email, phone number and date of birth. Date of birth confirms age eligibility.
- For the person booking, if different from the student: name, email and phone number.
- For students under 18: the parent or guardian's name, contact details and consent.
- Optional accommodation notes you choose to share with us.
- How you heard about us, including advertising or referral details carried in the link you used to reach our site.
- Your marketing email preference.
- Course attendance and results.
- Messages you send through our contact and group training forms.
We check government-issued photo ID on course day. We do not copy it or record ID numbers.
Payments
Card payments are processed by a secure third-party payment processor. Full card numbers are never seen or stored by us.
How we use it
- To manage bookings, class rosters and course results.
- To send confirmations, receipts, reminders and course-related messages.
- To send occasional news or offers, only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time.
- To answer your enquiries and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
Federal course reporting
The CFSC and CRFSC are delivered under the federal firearms safety program. Each student completes part of the official Safety Course Report, and the completed report is submitted to the program's designated service delivery agent for every student, whether or not they pass. A copy goes to students who pass, for their licence application.
Who we share it with
- The federal course reporting described above.
- Service providers that run our booking system: database hosting, payment processing and email delivery. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We never sell personal information.
How we protect it
Records are stored in a secured database that only authorized staff can access, and staff accounts require two-step sign-in. Uploaded documents are kept private and opened only through temporary links.
How long we keep it
- Course reports and course records: at least 5 years.
- Payment and financial records: as long as tax law requires, currently 6 years.
- Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: 2 years.
Cookies and analytics
Our public website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Staff sign-in uses essential cookies only. If this changes, we will update this policy.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask about deletion where the law allows. Contact us to make a request. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
