Cancellation and rebooking
Plans change. Here is how date changes, cancellations and missed classes work.
Timing
All times are Alberta time (Edmonton) and are measured from the scheduled start of your class.
More than 72 hours before your class
You can move to another available date at no charge. Each registration includes up to two free date changes.
If you would rather not choose a new date yet, we will give you a course credit for the full amount you paid, including GST. Taking a credit counts as one of your two free changes.
Cancellations made by you are not refunded in cash; you receive a transfer or a credit instead.
Less than 72 hours before your class, or after your two free changes
Half of what you paid (including GST) is forfeited and the other half becomes a course credit. There is no cash refund.
No-shows
If you miss your class without cancelling first, the full fee is forfeited and no credit is issued.
Combined CFSC + CRFSC package
A combined package reserves a seat in two linked classes. Moving the package normally means moving both classes together.
The CRFSC can only be taken after you pass the CFSC, either on the first attempt or on a rewrite. A rewrite is taken no sooner than the next day and within 7 days of the original test.
If you do not pass the CFSC on the first attempt or the rewrite, the CRFSC part of your package becomes a course credit for another CFSC course. The credit is the amount you paid for the CRFSC part when you booked (the package price minus the regular CFSC price at that time), plus the GST you paid on it. You pay the difference at the CFSC price in effect when you rebook. Credits cannot be exchanged for cash.
Example at today's prices: a $115 + GST ($120.75) credit toward a $160 + GST CFSC; you pay $45 + GST.
If we cancel a class
Occasionally we must cancel a class, most often because minimum enrolment is not reached, or because of weather or an instructor emergency. If that happens we contact every registered student directly and offer a transfer to another date at no cost or a full refund of the amount paid.
Course credits
Credits include GST and are recorded against the student they were issued to. A credit expires 6 months after it is issued. A credit from the combined package can only be used for a CFSC course. Credits cannot be exchanged for cash. To use a credit, contact us and we will book your new date.
How to request a change
Contact us with your name, the course and the date you are booked on. Include the date you would prefer if you already know it.
